The Curse of the Law. John tells of an encounter with someone who insisted on his subjection to Jewish laws and even made Christian laws for him. But the law brings a curse and bondage and he experienced that death. To "fall from grace" is to leave Christ for the law. As Vicki states, you can't have both Christ and the law.
